ME-IR Rating

Mulit-Engine-Instrument Training


Mulit-Engine IR

The Multi Engine IR training can be done in 2 ways:

  • As a combined IR training on the ME
  • or as an upgrade of an holding SEP- IR Rating
ME-IR upgrade
Full ME-IR training

The Multi Engine Upgrade Training consists of the following elements:

  • 3 h Simulator Training on FNPT II
  • 2 h on a Multi Engine Aircraft

on the end there is a Skill test on a  ME-Aircraft.

there is no additional theory training required.

You may need some refresher ground school before starting the Flight Training, just talk to us...

To start you will need the ME-VFR Rating, or at least the training have to be done.

Practal Flight TRaining

The entire training will be 55 hrs in total

  • 40 hrs can be done on the on the Simulator (FNPTII)
  • 15 hrs will be done on the ME-Aircraft

At the end there will be ME-IR-Skill test.

The advantage of combining the ME-VFR training is that there is only one combined skills test required for bote ME-VFR and ME-IR.

For the ME-IR Ratings:

Requirements to start the ME-IR Training

  • Valid PPL or CPL licence 
  • Valid IR-Rating SEP (or in case of modular training passed skill test IR-SEP)
  • ME-VFR training finished ore entered in you licence


According the requirements of your licence

RT license

To fly in Europe you need to have a Radio Telephony (RT) licence on IR level.

If you don't have a EASA-RT licence you can do it with us.

the UK-RT licence includes automatically the IR part.

Language proveniency check (LPC)

All EASA  - Pilots have to have at least a Level 4 of the ICAO language grading.

You can do the LPC with us. IF you do it in any other school - check weather this school is interntionaly aproved by the CAA-Uk
